Syed Kamall was delighted to welcome Karen Davies, founder and CEO of Purple Shoots, as the guest for the sixth Entrepreneurial Minds seminar on 8 April 2026 at the Enterprise Hub, Vinson Building, University of Buckingham.
Karen shared the inspiring story behind Purple Shoots, a not-for-profit microfinance organisation she established to tackle poverty, unemployment, and financial exclusion. Drawing on her background in financial services and small business, she spoke passionately about how the charity provides small loans to aspiring entrepreneurs unable to access mainstream finance, helping to create over 700 businesses since 2013. It was a truly compelling conversation about how community-led enterprise can transform lives.
