Why do I hold data?
As your Member of European Parliament I collect data given to me by constituents, Conservative Party members, businesses, and supporters to stay in touch and communicate what I am doing on their behalf in the European Parliament. As an elected representative, it is important to communicate with the public on what I am doing for them in Parliament and to ask their opinion on a range of different subjects.
Reasons we can collect and use your personal information
I rely on “legitimate interests” as the lawful bases on which I collect and use your personal information.
Where you have given me your data, I will inform you of campaigns, events, news, information that I believe will be interesting to you to keep you updated on my work. I will also ask your opinion via polls and surveys to give you the opportunity to have your say.
I will not use your data for anything other than to keep you updated on my work as a Member of European Parliament for London and as the co-Chairman of the European Conservative and Reformist Group.
I will ensure that your personal information is processed fairly, lawfully and transparently, and will only process personal information that is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary to be able to communicate with you regarding my political work in London and in Europe.
How we collect your personal information, what we collect and how we use it
I will only process your personal information for the purposes set out below. In the unlikely event I will need to process your personal information for a new purpose, I will inform you beforehand and you will have the opportunity to opt-out of any further correspondence.
When you provide any information to me, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
I am committed to making it simple and easy to amend all data I hold on you, to be able to decide what data I hold and to opt-out from receiving information from me at any time without any explanation or further correspondence.
Supporters
The only method I obtain your personal information is directly from you when you sign up to receive updates from me on my website or on social media, when you sign up to attend an event I am hosting, when you complete a survey or online poll or if you get in touch with me via email, in person, by letter or by the phone.
When you sign up for updates I will simply record your name and email address which is all I need to begin a relationship with you and keep in touch. I will also ask what your interests are to be able to best target news to you and to ensure you hear from me on the issues that are important to you.
When you opt-in to receiving updates from me when you fill in a survey, online poll or attend an event I am hosting I will record you name, email address, phone number and address. I may sometimes ask for further details depending on the circumstance, listed below.

I will report any suspected data breach to the applicable authorities and to individuals where I am legally required to do so.

Subject access requests
You can request a copy of any personal information that we hold about you, as well as the description of the type of information that we are processing, the uses that are being made of the information, details of anyone to whom their personal information has been disclosed, and how long the personal information will be stored. This is known as a “subject access request”. This information must be provided within one month of request at no charge to you. Opting out
If you just want to stop receiving emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the unsubscribe links contained in any email that we send you, by emailing my Data Compliance Officer or calling my team on the number below to update your details. When requesting removal via email, please contact me using the email account that is subscribed to the mailing list or make it clear in the email you send which email account you are referring to. If you are under 16 years of age you must obtain parental consent before signing up to my emails.
