Local letter Transport for London announces plan to deliver 4G mobile coverage on the Tube from 2019

Dear Sir,

Like many frequent passengers of the London Underground network, I have been been frustrated when trying to send emails or browse the web between stations.

When I launched my “No bars” campaign a few years ago asking mobile users to highlight areas of poor coverage, a number of people complained about lack of coverage on the underground network, especially when other cities such as Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seoul have offered WiFi or mobile coverage on their underground lines.

Therefore, it was welcome news when TfL announced that that they will  deliver 4G coverage across the underground network by 2019.

These days the majority of us rely on our phones and mobile devices to organise our personal lives, to stay in touch with friends and family and – crucially in many cases – to conduct our work and businesses.

To continue to be a leading global city and at the forefront of the tech revolution,  London must offer the best connectivity possibly to Londoners and visitors.  A good signal on the tube network will be a great step forward.
