This week, I have been holding a series of meetings as part of the Brexit process.
On Tuesday 15th November, The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP and I met to discuss UK-EU relations post-Brexit as well as the role of the ECR Group in the European Parliament, of which I lead. Patrick is the Conservative Party Chairman and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, while also being MP for Derbyshire Dales.
On Wednesday 16th November, I met with The Rt Hon David Jones MP. The aim was to discuss together, how we could achieve a Brexit deal which not only works for the UK but also the EU. David is the Minister of State for Exiting the European Union and so we have a very good conversation about how we can ensure a smooth transition between the UK being a member of the EU and in future being outside.
