Syed Kamall Secures Approval for National Licensing System for Non-Surgical Treatments

Syed Kamall has successfully obtained approval from the House of Lords for the implementation of a National Licensing System for non-surgical cosmetic procedures. The system aims to enhance safety standards and ensure consistent quality in the industry by establishing licensing requirements for practitioners and hygiene standards for premises.

Kamall emphasised that the purpose of this system is not to restrict procedures or hinder innovation but to provide consumers with confidence in the safety and high standards of cosmetic treatments. Detailed consultations with stakeholders, including the cosmetics industry and local authorities, will be carried out to develop comprehensive regulations for the licensing regime. Kamall urged support for the amendments and encouraged the withdrawal of alternative proposals to enable effective implementation.
