Syed Kamall co-hosted a roundtable at the House of Lords on the future of artificial intelligence in the UK’s health, care, and life sciences sectors. Organised by UKAI and the independent policy institute Curia, the event brought together parliamentarians, clinicians, innovators, and policy experts to examine the transformative potential of AI in the NHS and beyond.
The discussion focused on overcoming systemic barriers to AI adoption and the need for strategic alignment between national investment and local delivery. As Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care, Kamall emphasised that embedding AI is not a luxury but a necessity to meet the growing demands of an ageing population, clinical complexity, and workforce pressures.
